Frequently Asked Questions

Making an appointment

Call 208-918-1636 and the person answering will walk you through getting scheduled. Demographic, contact, insurance, payment, and other necessary personal information will be gathered. We take pride in having you show up to your appointment without having to fill out a large packet of paperwork!

What to expect on your first visit?

Our first appointment will be focused on providing a comfortable and safe environment, and also building rapport and gathering information. Some insurance companies require a diagnostic assessment, which will then be completed this first appointment. We will also focus on creating a personally tailored treatment plan that meets your specific needs and/or presenting issues.

Does my insurance cover counseling and what are my out of pocket costs?

If you are using insurance, you will be responsible for the copay/coinsurance, or the contracted amount should you need to meet deductible, so cost will vary depending on your insurance plan. We are more than happy to assist with contacting your insurance company to determine eligibility and benefits. If you are not using insurance and are self-pay, costs range from $100-$120.

What is the cost per session and what method of payments are accepted?

Cost per session ranges from $100-$150. Cost will depend on the service provided, the length of time of the appointment, and will also depend on whether or not you are using insurance. We accept debit/credit cards, cash, checks, HSA/FSA cards.

Availability

Availability changes are natural as we are graduating clients regularly and filling their spots. When contacting the office initially, we will work on finding a time that works best for you! You may contact TCS at any time. We pride ourselves in a quick response time!

How many sessions do I need?

It is important to understand that each individual is different and their needs are different, therefore it is difficult to narrow down an exact number of sessions for any type of issue. We want to make sure that we are providing the best possible treatment to address your concerns and meet your needs. We believe that the goal of counseling is to no longer need counseling, and we do our best to assist you in reaching your goals in treatment.

The counseling session is for my child, do I need to go into the office with them?

For best results, it is important that we gather as much information as possible about the child, and that often includes information gathered from parents or guardians. We will typically ask parents or guardians to come into the office for first appointment and then based on the child’s needs and the presenting issues, we will tailor their treatment plan accordingly. This often includes parental involvement.

Where do I go once I enter the building?

There is no receptionist for the building so once you enter the building please take a seat in the lobby area. Your counselor will be out shortly to get you for your session. There are bathrooms on the premises if needed.
